Welcome from BES Principal Martha Bock
At Bridgeport Elementary, we are dedicated to guiding students to success while inspiring a strong passion for learning. We constantly provide fresh and new projects to keep Bridgeport’s youngest students excited and focused on learning.
Our school is for kindergarten, first- and second-grade students. We also provide a pre kindergarten program for qualifying students who are four years old.
Our district has strongly integrated technology into the learning process and Bridgeport Elementary is proud to provide each student with a Chromebook computer.
In 2013, we initiated the two-way Dual Language Program for kindergarten students. It is now offered in kindergarten, first- and second-graders. It is a full-time program with rigorous instruction in two languages. The students become bilingual and bi-literate by developing speaking, listening, reading and writing fluency in both languages.
Along with digital and dual language learning, we strive on nurturing student development by bridging the community, home and school for our students and their families.
Some of these programs include:
- Working closely with our parents to ensure that they feel comfortable and welcome at school, which encourages involvement in their child’s education.
- Consistently offering new learning projects, such as sponsoring an “Authors’ Visit” where authors from popular children’s books visit the school
- Sponsoring Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) to have dads help with campus safety and many other programs.
- Implementing diagnostic assessments, such as the Developmental Reading Assessment to better identify student needs.
We enthusiastically work with our staff, student, and parents to make Bridgeport Elementary School a great place to grow and learn!
